Don manages the overall operations of the department. He works primarily with high-net-worth individuals and families in establishing charitable funds.

Don also is a resource for information about philanthropy and local and national giving trends. He was named the Outstanding Professional Fundraiser of the Year in 2005 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Minnesota Chapter, and serves on the board of directors of Patchwork Quilt, a youth development program in North Minneapolis. He has also served on the AFP National Foundation Board of Directors starting in 2000, serving as Chair in 2005 and 2006.

Don has worked at The Minneapolis Foundation since 2008. Prior to joining the Foundation, he was vice president and chief development officer at Courage Center. He previously held positions at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, the School of Divinity at the University of St. Thomas, and the Laura Baker School.

Marigrace manages the Foundation’s relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families. Grace helps many families involve multiple generations in their charitable giving. Grace is a member of the Board of Directors of Goodwill / Easter Seals and serves on foundation advisory groups for the Citizens League and the Minnesota Council on Foundations. She also is a member of the Council of Foundation’s Global Philanthropic Committee and is involved in efforts to expand the community foundation model to Eastern Europe.

Grace has worked at the Foundation since 1980.

Eric oversees a range of programs and services to assist our donor advisors in their personal philanthropy. He offers extensive experience in grantmaking and provides a wealth of knowledge about the local nonprofit community, especially in the area of arts and culture. He also is involved with the national Council on Foundations and, locally, with the Minnesota Council on Foundations and serves on boards of the Minnesota AIDS Project and Springboard for the Arts.

Eric has worked at The Minneapolis Foundation since 2000. Prior to joining the Foundation, he worked at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, William Mitchell College of Law, and Augsburg College.

Dan assists families and private foundations in establishing charitable funds at The Minneapolis Foundation. He also serves as a resource to donors interested in international development, education, health, public policy, and microcredit. In addition, Dan represents the Foundation in matters of charitable reform at the federal level.

Dan has longstanding connections in the local Chinese community and has helped develop the Chinese Heritage Foundation within The Minneapolis Foundation. He is active in the community around issues of education.

Dan has worked at The Minneapolis Foundation since 1998. Prior to joining the Foundation, he worked at the Minnesota Opera, the Loft Literary Center, and the Guthrie Theater.

Bob provides philanthropic research for the staff of The Minneapolis Foundation and its donor advisors. As part of his duties, Bob helps individuals and families identify nonprofit organizations that match their areas of charitable interest. He also has experience developing requests for proposals, conducting due diligence, and screening grant requests.
 
Bob has worked at The Minneapolis Foundation since 2000. Prior to joining the Foundation, he worked as a writer, researcher, and copy editor.

Mary Ellis’s work includes charitable estate planning and strategies relating to gifts of illiquid assets such as real estate and closely held stock. Mary Ellis also works with nonprofit organizations seeking to add planned giving and endowment building to their fundraising work. She is a member of the Minnesota Planned Giving Council and previously served on the boards of North Hennepin Writers Guild, Guild Press, Sing Heavenly! Muse, and the Larry Brown Youth Education Corporation.
 
Mary Ellis has worked at The Minneapolis Foundation since 2002. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked at the University of Minnesota Foundation and Dorsey & Whitney LLP.

Nick is responsible for overseeing the administration of our donor advised grantmaking. He also manages our scholarship programs, as well as the on-line donor portal. He currently serves as co-chair of the Minnesota Chapter of the Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy.

 

Nick has worked at the Foundation since 2005. His most recent previous position was in retail management. Nick has both strong personal interest and professional experience in arts education.

Robyn is the client services officer and coordinates the Foundation’s work around corporate giving, new audiences, family philanthropy, and outreach to younger donors. Robyn manages At the Table, our program for next-generation leaders in the community, and is our point person for efforts around social media and philanthropy. She also serves on the steering committee for Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, Minnesota Chapter.
 
Robyn has worked at The Minneapolis Foundation since 2006. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked at Orr Associates, a nonprofit consulting firm in Washington, DC, and with the Employee Volunteer Programs Office at JP Morgan Chase.

Bill leads the Foundation’s outreach to attorneys, financial advisors, accountants and other advisors as they are the primary referral network for sourcing new donors to the Foundation. Bill also manages both new and existing relationships with donor families and the non-donor investment management clients. His experience centers around helping affluent families meet their financial and philanthropic goals. He has particular expertise working with families whose wealth is sourced from closely-held business, executive positions in public companies, and professional services.
 
Bill has previously served on the boards of several non-profit and educational organizations, in addition to co-founding a private foundation. Currently, he is on the advisory board of LearningWorks at Blake.
 
Bill has worked at The Minneapolis Foundation since 2002. Prior to joining the Foundation, he worked at Citicorp Private Banking, Piper Jaffray & Co., and Fisher Investments.
