Grantmaking Process

We make it easy to make a difference. It takes just minutes to recommend a grant from your donor advised fund. We handle all of the paperwork and due diligence.

Here's how it works:

1. You complete a Grant Recommendation Form and submit it online through DonorWeb, our secure website, or by mail or fax.
   
   
2. The Minneapolis Foundation staff processes and approves the grant recommendation. We conduct a due diligence review on each charity to ensure eligibility prior to approving a grant recommendation. We maintain up-to-date information on hundreds of organizations to ensure as quick an approval as possible.
   
   
3. The Minneapolis Foundation sends a check to the organization. An accompanying letter will acknowledge your fund - unless you request anonymity (which you can do for your fund generally or on a grant by grant basis). You can track the status of your grant on DonorWeb or a confirmation letter can be provided to you at your request.
