Since 1915, generous individuals, families, and businesses have left charitable gifts to the Foundation to strengthen and sustain our quality of life. We use these gifts to ensure every individual and neighborhood in Minneapolis has the tools and opportunities needed to thrive. Under our current strategic plan, our Community Grantmaking supports efforts to transform education, promote economic vitality, and build social capital.

Each year, we typically distribute around $4 million in Community Grants. One-year grants are made in various sizes. Grants approved in the last grant round ranged from $10,000 to $50,000. The activities we support must show that they can make a measurable impact in the lives of Minneapolis residents.
