At the Table
engaging the next generation of givers

Whether you've been a part of your family's charitable giving since childhood or you're forging your own path as part of the next generation of leaders, At the Table was created to help you become a more engaged and effective philanthropist.

What Is it and Who Is It For?
Designed primarily for givers between 18 and 40 years of age, At the Table provides resources and opportunities for individuals who donate time and talent to their communities. They may differ in how they think about their money and philanthropy, as well as the causes, charities, and motivations for which they give. Yet they all want to learn more about the unique needs of our community, to connect with individuals taking the lead in finding solutions, and to give with others to make a greater impact.
How does it work and how do I join?
At the Table is not a formal program, but a variety of opportunities The Minneapolis Foundation provides to help participants to learn more, do more, and give more to become more fully engaged philanthropists in our community. We do this through a growing variety of on-line media, events, and giving opportunities.

Here are just a few ways you can participate:
Join the conversation -- or just listen and learn -- about community issues, promising solutions, trends in giving, and more on our blog: http://atthetable.minneapolisfoundation.org/.
The blog is an opportunity to share observations about trends in giving and trends in our community from a young philanthropist's point of view. Add your thoughts or subscribe to updates.

Connect with peers and community leaders at events like Minnesota Meeting round tables.
50 young leaders participated in a special Minnesota Meeting series on education that concluded with an intimate discussion with the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Public School superintendents. Check out photos from the season and read the Q & A with event participants.

Events take place over lunch and breakfast throughout the year. Community leaders address an intimate crowd of At the Table members on topics ranging from media, education to health care. To receive notices of upcoming events, email Robyn Schein.

Participate in collaborative giving opportunities, like through our partnership with the Community Capital Alliance.
Community Capital Alliance (CCA), a volunteer-run organization of young professionals, has had a charitable fund at The Minneapolis Foundation for over 12 years. Some CCA members are long-term Twin Cities residents looking to give back, while others are transplants looking to learn more about their new home. All are interested in being charitable and learning how to do it strategically. The Minneapolis Foundation is deepening its connection with this group to help provide next generation donors with opportunities to maximize their giving. Learn more about how At the Table is joining forces with CCA click here and visit www.ccalliance.net for a calendar of their meetings.
