Requests for funding are now being accepted for nonprofit
service providers, faith based organizations and public entities assisting the North Minneapolis neighborhoods affected by the tornado on May 22, 2011. Please note that
funds will not be distributed directly to individuals.
Shortly after the tornado hit North Minneapolis, local foundations and the
Greater Twin Cities United Way joined together to create the Minnesota Helps - North Minneapolis Recovery Fund to effectively and quickly allocate funds to
assist those directly impacted by the devastating tornado.
Contributions to the Minnesota Helps - North Minneapolis Recovery Fund are being pooled and allocated to nonprofits, faith based organizations, and public entities providing support and
financial assistance to those most affected by this disaster – both immediately
and in the coming months.
No administrative fees will be collected for administering the fund – 100% of all donations to the fund will go to funding needs as a result of the tornado in North Minneapolis. Funds
will not be distributed directly to individuals.
Grant decisions will be made by representatives from the major
funders. Grant awards are at the discretion of the Minnesota Helps – North Minneapolis Recovery Fund.
