IRREVOCABILITY AND SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS
Please note that once you have submitted your gift, it is irrevocable. Although gifts may be redirected to a different fund at The Minneapolis Foundation if they have been allocated incorrectly, no refunds will be made by The Minneapolis Foundation. You will receive an automatic acknowledgment of your gift by e-mail.
Gifts also cannot be designated for specific use beyond the established purpose of the recipient fund.
Contact us if you have any questions at (612) 672-3878 or e-mail@mplsfoundation.org. Thanks.
SOLICITATION
The ability to accept contributions through this website is not intended as a solicitation outside of Minnesota.
The Minneapolis Foundation provides a free, on-line contribution service to advisors of charitable funds administered by the Foundation. Provision of this service should not be interpreted as solicitation on behalf of those individual and organizations.
The Minneapolis Foundation does periodically solicit contributions for funds established by The Minneapolis Foundation itself and may direct solicitees to the on-line contribution website. These funds may include Foundation-administered programs (such as Destination 2010) or community giving campaigns (such as Santa Anonymous). Solicitations for these campaigns are targeted to Minnesota residents.
TRANSACTION FEES AND TAX DEDUCTIBILITY
In accordance with IRS regulations, contributions charged on your credit card are deductible in the year in which the charge clears your credit card. For each donation, a fee will be charged by our bank for processing credit card transactions and varies depending on the type of credit card used. (Processing fees vary by credit card company; 3% of contribution size is fairly typical.) The full amount of your gift is deductible as a charitable income tax deduction to a public charity, and your deduction is not reduced by the amount of the fee charged. The actual funds available for making charitable grants, however, will be reduced by the fee.
SECURITY OF CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS
The Minneapolis Foundation uses carefully selected service providers to process credit card transactions on our behalf. When you provide credit card information through this site, your information goes directly from your computer to a server operated by our service provider. Our service provider uses your credit card information only to process your transaction and is bound by contract to treat all of your personal information as confidential. Although our service providers send us the information you provide when you complete a transaction (so that we know, for example, who has made a contribution and how to contact them), for your security, our service providers do not share your credit card information with us. See our Privacy Policy for more information about how we protect personal information collected via our website.
