Planned gifts can a great way for your supporters to contribute to your work, but accepting planned gifts can be a complex process. The Minneapolis Foundation can provide the following services to help you benefit from these giving opportunities when they arise.
- Assistance with charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities
- Acceptance of illiquid assets as gifts, such as closely-held stock or real estate
- Customized illustrations for simple or complex estate planning techniques
- Assistance with language for wills, revocable trusts or beneficiary designations
- Training on planned giving for boards or fundraising teams
- Assistance with donor meetings
Planned giving services are available to organizations that create Endowment Funds or Opportunity Funds at The Minneapolis Foundation. A $10,000 fund balance is required.
Customized Service
Our services can be customized to meet your needs. We can serve as your “back office,” allowing you to focus on what you do best.
For example, we could serve as a trustee for a charitable remainder trust, providing investment management, quarterly statements, annuity payments and tax reporting.
Or we will help you manage charitable gift annuities without worries about the annuity payments or paperwork.
You can make it possible for donors to create a financial structure to benefit your organization while preserving their tax advantages.
