Our Community’s Critical Needs

A time to make an impact

The economic crisis has hit our region hard. Demand is growing rapidly for help with basic needs like food and housing. At The Minneapolis Foundation, we are grateful to partner with so many donors, professional advisors, and nonprofit organizations committed to serving and strengthening our community.

You can make a difference. Community agencies providing emergency relief services need our help. We encourage you to give as generously as your situation allows.

The Minneapolis Foundation has established a Crisis Assistance Fund to provide support to nonprofit agencies that are assisting individuals and families most affected by the economic crisis. The Crisis Assistance Fund will help these agencies meet food, housing, and other basic needs of our neighbors in crisis. If you wish to contribute to the Crisis Assistance Fund, you can make a tax deductible contribution in any amount via our secure website here.

In addition, The Minneapolis Foundation, the Greater Twin Cities United Way, and the F.R. Bigelow Foundation together have committed $550,000 to help 40 emergency food shelves provide assistance to hungry individuals and families.

Together we can make an immediate and positive impact on families struggling to make ends meet.

As always, we are available to answer your questions about this and opportunities to make an impact in our community, giving tips and strategies, or the services of The Minneapolis Foundation.
