Fourth Generation, a program of the Minneapolis Foundation, raised more than $22,000 to support local organizations focused on affordable housing at its 7th annual Graze 4 Good fundraiser.
Held at Aria in the North Loop, Graze 4 Good featured gourmet food created by a dozen renowned Twin Cities chefs, as well as beer from Summit Brewing, craft cocktails by Marco Zappio of Tres Leches and a foodie-themed silent auction. The event drew more than 250 local leaders, emerging philanthropists and other community members – despite the April blizzard!
Featured chefs included Katy Gerdes of Angel Food Bakery, Doug Flicker and Amy Greeley of Bull’s Horn and Sandcastle, Renay and Ben Dossman of Fat Chance, Jamie Malone and Alan Hlebaen of Grand Café, Alex Roberts and Carrie Riggs of Restaurant Alma and Brasa, Jessi Peine of Peeps Hotbox and Mike Brown, Bob Gerken and James Winberg of Travail.
Funds raised at Graze 4 Good go directly into Fourth Generation’s grantmaking pool, supporting nonprofits that are addressing critical needs in Minneapolis-St. Paul. This year’s grants, which will be awarded in June, will go to organizations focused on affordable housing.
Every year, members of Fourth Generation vote to choose an issue, research it together and make grants to local nonprofits. In the past seven years, Fourth Generation has granted nearly $300,000 to address critical issues such as mental health, youth homelessness, criminal justice reform and small business development.
