Minnesota Meeting
When federal immigration enforcement surged, Minnesotans stepped up. Although unjust ICE operations continue, the people revealed our civic strength. We showed the world that “of the people, by the people, and for the people” is not just a phrase from America’s past—it’s a promise we can choose to keep. This year’s event will create space to reflect on what happened, what it reveals, and what it can mean for other communities under pressure.
What is the Minnesota Meeting?
For decades, the Minnesota Meeting was the go-to place for critical conversations about pressing issues of the day. Originally launched by Twin Cities business leaders in the 1980s, this event series was hosted by the Minneapolis Foundation to provide a forum for public dialogue on topics ranging from economic equity to immigration. Today, the need for civil discourse has never been greater, so we relaunched the Minnesota Meeting in 2024. Our goal is to provide a space where people across the region can come together to learn, share ideas, and get inspired to act on our community’s greatest needs.
